RRCUS Mentors and Education Committee 

RRCUS MENTORS

One of the jobs of the RRCUS Education Committee is to mentor the public, judges, RR enthusiasts, and prospective puppy owners about the many aspects of our breed. The RRCUS Education Committee has determined the criteria for Breed Mentors.

BREED MENTORS

Breed Mentors are RRCUS members in good standing. They are experienced Breed enthusiasts willing to educate RRCUS members and others interested in our breed. Mentors will provide information concerning conformation, temperament, training, health, nutrition, and other general topics pertaining to Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Mentors will provide opportunities for onsite visits to our breed. Breed Mentors will provide ringside mentoring for judges and potential judges.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR BREED MENTOR

  1. Twelve years as a member in good standing of RRCUS.
  2. Whelped at least four Rhodesian Ridgeback litters in their home.
  3. Exhibited in AKC conformation and/or AKC performance for at least 12 years.
  4. Breeder of Record of a minimum of five AKC Rhodesian Ridgeback champions.
  5. Attended a RRCUS sanctioned Judges Education Seminar and Workshop and submit a Certificate of Completion.
  6. Attend a minimum of six RRCUS National Specialties prior to application.
  7. Take and pass the AKC Breed Exam on the Rhodesian Ridgeback.
  8. Take and pass the AKC Canine Anatomy Exam

EDUCATION MEMBERS

Members of the Education Committee will also serve as Breed Mentors. They will be responsible for giving the RRCUS endorsed breed presentation to All Breed Clubs, AKC judges study groups, potential judges, and at our National Specialty. Education Committee Members will provide ringside mentoring for judges and potential judges.

Members of the Education Committee will review and vote on Breed Mentor applications. The RRCUS BOD shall approve the actions of the Education Committee.

Education committee applicants will be voted on by the Education Committee and approved by the RRCUS BOD. An applicant must serve for a minimum of two years as a Breed Mentor prior to applying. Complaints concerning either Education Committee members or Breed Mentors will be heard by the RRCUS BOD.
